At present time, there are two devices that are ahead of the race under INR 7,000. Let us help you decide between Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Lenovo Vibe K5.

Display: Both are at par with each other

When it comes to the display on smartphones, 5-inch is considered to be the perfect size for mobility as well as multimedia by many. Both Redmi 3s and Vibe K5 come with a good 5-inch display dominating the front panel. Moreover, both these devices boast of a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, which results into a pixel density of 294 ppi. Therefore, if you are looking for a smartphone for gaming or watching movies on, you will be good with either of them.

Processor: Redmi 3s walks away with the cake

However, when it comes to the performance of a handset, you have to see what kind of processor these devices are packing to gauge how they will perform in real life. Both Vibe K5 and Xiaomi Redmi 3S come with a Snapdragon Octa-core processor that has been accompanied with 2 GB of RAM for smooth performance and multitasking. However, Redmi 3s has a slight edge in this department as it comes with Snapdragon 430 as compared to Snapdragon 415 on Lenovo Vibe K5. This would not make world of a difference in actual performance, still it does not takes away the fact that Redmi has a newer processor.

Storage: Redmi 3S again has slight advantage

The internal storage available on the handset is another distinguishing feature between these two devices. While they both have identical 16 GB of memory on-board, the difference lies in the expandable storage capacity. Lenovo Vibe K5 comes with support for microSD card up to 32 GB, which again is pretty restrictive. However, on Xiaomi Redmi 3S, you can go as high as 128 GB, which is pretty impressive. It so happens that an average tend to fill 32 or even 64 GB pretty easily but 128 is more than enough no matter how much you use your handset.

Battery: Redmi 3S wins by a mile

The main factor that every buyer takes into consideration while buying a smartphone is how long the device will last on a single charge. Therefore, if you have a massive battery and also a software optimised to preserve the battery longest, it is a win win. Xiaomi Redmi 3s comes with a massive 4100 mAh battery, which is pretty impressive by itself and on top of that the whole MIUI and display etc consume a whole lot less battery so that it lasts longer. Lenovo Vibe K5 on the other hand comes with a smaller 2750 mAh battery, which is a lot less than what is being offered by the Redmi 3S.

Connectivity: Redmi 3S has added benefit

On the connectivity front, both devices come with same features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM and 4G LTE to name a few. However, Xiaomi Redmi 3S has a feather in its hat in the form of Infrared blaster. For the uninitiated, this allows users to control most remote-controlled appliances with their smartphones. While this may not be a deal breaker but can turn away users who like to use universal controller through their phone.

Verdict: Redmi 3S is the sureshot winner here

It is now pretty apparent that If users want an all round smartphone, Xiaomi Redmi 3S. Since Xiaomi’s arrival in India, Xiaomi mobile pricelist has always been the most selling part. India is a price sensative nation and the company hit the right chord by launching Redmi 3S. However, Lenovo has a much better brand recognition compared to Xiaomi and that might pull a brand-conscious buyers. Coming to value for money factor, it Redmi 3s all the way in Indian market.
